How to deposit
Self-archiving in an open access repository is a fairly quick and simple process that does not require special technical competences.
The basic steps in self-archiving are:
-
The author or the proxy self-archiving service inputs the metadata through a user-friendly interface and attaches the relevant object.
-
The author grants to the institution the right to use and disseminate the object.
-
The author's right to deposit an object into the institutional repository is checked
-
A final check and correction of the object's metadata is carried out
-
The object's format is checked for compliance
-
During any one of the aforementioned checks an object may be rejected and deleted, or returned to the author for correction and re-submission. Once steps one to five have been successfully completed/verified, the object is accepted and submitted to the repository.
-
The accepted object is given an identical code and URL address in order to be continuously accessible.
