The ‘workshop in a box' was developed by EKT in collaboration with Leiden University Libraries, the State and University Library Denmark and SPARC Europe, whose initiative it is.

The ‘workshop in a box' comprises the following three parts, which are openly accessible under a CC-BY license:
1. An introduction to Open Access (MOD1 )
2. Three specialized presentations, one each on the Humanities (MOD2 HUMANITIES ), the Social Sciences (MOD2 SOCSCI ), and the Natural and Medical Sciences (MOD3 NAT HEALTH )
3. A practical part (MOD3 PRACTICAL ),which aims at guiding researchers to explore general and specific (field-specific, country- and institution-specific) Open Access resources and tips for increasing access to their own work. The practical part is accompanied by a manual for the librarians (MOD3 MANUAL )

The modular structure of the ‘workshop in a box' allows librarians to choose whichever part of the presentation interests them and adjust it according to the needs of their audience. For example, one may chose to present only an introduction to Open Access or the Introduction and a specialized presentation on Open Access in the Humanities, along with the practical part.

Further, the ‘workshop in a box' contains notes for the librarians in each slide of the presentations, as well as three introductory slides in powerpoint with the attribution of the team that worked on the ‘workshop in a box' (COVER_COLOPHON ).

Celebrating Open Access Week 2011, the National Documentation Centre will carry out two seminars based on the ‘workshop in box' for the researchers of the National Hellenic Research Foundation, on the 24th and the 26th of October, focused on the Natural Sciences and the Humanities, respectively.
