Norway
The Research Council of Norway issued its Principles for Open Access to Scientific Publications in January 2009 with immediate effect. According to these principles, research partially or entirely funded by the Council must be deposited in appropriate repositories (institutional or subject). The only exception to this self-archiving policy applies to researchers who have not been able to obtain the relevant permission from their publishers.

Switzerland
Since September 2007 the Swiss National Science Foundation requires of the researchers it funds to publish their research in Open Access journals or deposit them in repositories.
