EOS: New Organization on Open Scholarship
01/10/2009
EOS, EnablingOpenScholarship, was founded in September 2009, as an "information service and a forum for raising and discussing issues around the mission of modern universities and research institutions, particularly with regard to the creation, dissemination and preservation of research findings".
EOS aims at promoting open access research and scholarship along the line of recent developments in the open access movement in universities and research institutions. Through its website, www.openscholarship.org/, EOS provides information on developments in open scholarship.
Further, it provides customized advice on open access strategies to its pool of members, comprising exclusively senior university and research institution administrators. EOS Board features prominent figures of the Open Access movement from around the world.
