New directory of open access journals
EBSCO Information Services and the Hasselt University Library, Belgium, have joined their forces within the framework of the IOC's (Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO) IODE (International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange) program to develop a global Open Science Directory.
The Open Science Directory is a comprehensive search tool for open access journals and journals in special programs for developing countries. It contains about 13,000 scientific journals with an objective to provide access to 20,000 scientific journals when all the special program journals will be included.
The directory includes collections of open access journals (e.g. DOAJ, BioMed Central, HighWire Press, PubMed Central) and journals in the special programs (Hinari, Agora, OARE).
